Though i missed Ubuntu 9.10 release party by kanchilug people, im fortunate to attend Ubuntu 10.04 release party.
Reached the venue by 3 p.m accompanied by my friend, Sathish.
Saw some of kanchilug friends tieing the banners on the wall, making projector arrangements.
Time goes on the hall was filled with kids, school students, college-goers, working people, parents, old people.
Session was started by Arul by delivering a speech on ‘What is OpenSource?‘
Followed by Yassir who gave valid points on ‘Why to use Linux ?’
Rajkumar showed the magic of Compiz.
Kabilan talked about Ubuntu History
Bala showed a live demo on ‘How to work with LiveCD and the steps involved in installing Ubuntu 10.04 ?‘
Suji and Malathi gave speech on contribution of students to open source projects.
Mr. Ramadoss sir (Chief Guest) was welcomed to deliver a talk.
He gave his views nicely to audience.
Time to release Ubuntu Tamil Manual Guide and Ubuntu OS 10.04 CD came.
Ubuntu Tamil Manual Guide — an awesome work by Kanchilug members.
I went through the whole book.
I can call it (the book) as a good friend to the users.
Another guest present was Tahsildar of Kanchipuram.
Mr. Ramadoss gave the CD and Manual guide to Tahsildar.
Finally Shrini delivered a talk on Job Opportunities in FOSS World.
The entire programme was well comperied by Ramya
Time to end the party came.
Yes, it was ended with National Anthem.
